The City of Casselberry Building Division manages the construction or alteration of buildings and structures within the City through the building permit process. Staff ensure all construction in the City is compliant through robust and comprehensive review and enforcement of the Florida Building Code, State Statutes, and the City’s Code of Ordinances.

Are you remodeling or adding to your home or business? Building permits are required for most improvement projects, such as new construction, additions, remodels, signs, and repairs and upgrades to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Learn more about submittal requirements, apply online, view permit status, pay permit fees, and schedule inspections via the CitizenServe Portal.

When in doubt, give us a call or drop us a line – we are happy to help!

New here? Getting started is easy as 1-2-3!

1. Prepare

Each permit type has different submittal requirements, so it’s important to understand what you'll need to provide to get started. Take a moment and learn more by visiting the link below to review the submittal guidelines.

 2. Register

Whether you’re a DIY homeowner or a professional contractor, you’ll need to register for a CitizenServe account. Once you’re registered, be sure to fill out any applicable account information and provide the necessary documentation to avoid additional delays.

 3. Apply

Once you've gathered everything needed for your application and registered on our portal, you can apply for your permit. Keep an eye out for notifications – you’ll receive confirmation emails when you apply, when there’s a status change, or when payment can be made.

Afterward, within your account, you can check your permit status at any time and see where it is in the review process; you can also conveniently pay all your fees online through your account. Once you receive notification that your permit is approved and issued, you can begin work. When you’re ready for an inspection, you can schedule online at your convenience – all through CitizenServe!
