Rental Registration Codified Ordinance 1280.10 of the City of University Heights requires that the owners who rent out their one- and two-family dwellings in U-1 and U-2 Zoning Districts register their property with the City, pay a registration fee, and have their property inspected. Point of Sale Application Codified Ordinance Chapter 1490 requires a point of sale application and fee to be submitted as well as interior and exterior inspections to be completed prior to the transfer of all one-and two-family residential buildings in the City. Building Permits The City requires that a Building Department Permit be obtained before proceeding with any construction, alteration, addition or demolition of any building or accessory structure. The Building Department issues permits and arranges to inspect work and materials to ensure that all activity conforms to the Ordinances of the City of University Heights. Before allowing contractors to begin work, homeowners should check with the Building Department to verify that permits and contractor registration have been obtained.
